Steps for New Officials:
1. Register and pay with USA Swimming and establish an online account (see your Club Registrar for assistance)
2. Download and print the appropriate certification checklist:

3. Login and confirm you have an "official" online membership card, like the example below. Once logged in with your "official" role, complete the three prerequisites below. If your online membership card says "member" or "athlete," STOP...you are not correctly registered/logged in as an official.
All the training found, once logged in with your "official" profile at: https://university.usaswimming.org/landing
- Background Check (required every two years)
- Athlete Protection Training (required every year)
- Concussion Training (once completed, send the certificate to your Club Officials Chair, who will send to the LSC Officials Chair and LSC Technical Chair, Jill Schlenker)
4. Attend a Training Clinic-Hosted by your Club
5. Complete the "Foundations of Officiating Course"-found under training at: https://university.usaswimming.org/landing (30 minutes)
6. Complete four (4) training sessions, over two (2) different meets...preferably a different pool, but not required
7. Complete the "Stroke and Turn Certification Course" with an 80% minimum - found under training at: https://university.usaswimming.org/landing (60-90 minutes) -- Only applies to Stroke and Turn Officials; USA Swimming working on AO course
8. Give your completed certification checklist to your Club Officials Chair, who will send it to the LSC Officials Chair, Chris Domitrovich for final certification.
